Excellent Public Education
(To be proposed at the Demcoratic Party Precinct Convetion for Precinct 1234 - March 7th)
WHEREAS the United States ranks 24th in education internationally;
WHEREAS education is essential to the continued leadership of the United States in the world;
BE IT RESOLVED THAT funding education in the United States be a top priority which takes precedence over tax cuts; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT all public elementary and secondary schools be properly funded so that all will be equally excellent; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT teachers salaries and benefits be increased sufficiently to attract better qualified teachers and to retain teachers; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the number of students per teacher be no greater than 10 students per teacher in kindergarten, first, second, and third grades; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Head Start be fully funded throughout the United States; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT all students who meet the entrance requirements and maintain a suitable academic record receive a fully taxpayer funded scholarship for a bachelors degree at a public university or a certificate from any accredited trade school.
